These headphones might just be the best under $100 compared to many others. They sound amazing thankfully to their 50mm drivers and great tuning. The build quality is also excellent; combining metal and plastic. But it's not just any cheap plastic, even the plastic feels very premium. It’s hard to believe they only cost around $60–69; it’s honestly amazing. Now don't get me wrong I'm no true audiophile, I'm just a casual music enjoyer 😂
My only complaint is that the cable is a bit short for me. If it had even a slightly longer cable would have been perfect. But if you’re connecting the headphones to an amp, it’s long enough.
As for comfort, simply 10/10. These might have the softest earpads I’ve ever touched. They’re extremely soft and plush, and the weight is well-distributed, so there’s no ear pain even after very long sessions. You just need to wear them in the right position. The headband is also made with very soft, thin material and it feels NICE. There’s no tight clamping force either—perfect for my head. The thin foam padding over the drivers is also incredibly soft, preventing distortion and discomfort even if your ears touch them.
Now, about the audio quality—it’s simply fantastic for the price. The vocals are clear and sharp, some EQ'ing can make them even better. Treble is smooth and nice; not harsh unless you push the EQ too far. The bass is punchy and detailed, though it’s not for the bassheads out there. In some tracks, the bass is very present and hits hard, but it doesn’t thump. EQ can help boost it, but it still might not be enough for the super bassheads. (Using a amp will make it better though)
If you prefer high-quality audio with punchy, detailed bass, this is perfect. It reminds me of the Audio-Technica ATH-M50X, but the FiiO JT1 is not a studio headphone. The vocal and instrument separation is solid, with vocals pushed forward and stands out clearly. Imaging is decent—you can tell where footsteps are. But it’s not suitable for professional or E-sports use. The mids are present and sound nice, while the lows are slightly pushed back but they still hang there.
For $60–69, I don’t think there’s a more complete, well-built headphone with this level of sound quality. FiiO really proved that "HiFi doesn't have to be expensive." Good job, FiiO. And thanks Gears For Ears for importing this masterpiece of a headphone 🙏
i used koss kph30i from 2020-2022 .Then,it just broke. In the meantime, I've used letshuor s12 pro, gimlet, kefine.Ik it's not wise to compare w an iem to an openback. But,man oh man, this cheap looking library headset is something else. That soundstage, the tuning, treble is just on point, specially the treble.Damn..idk how do they do it at this price range.Kudos to you,Koss.
It worked perfectly and instantly with both my iPhone 15 Pro and Pixel. The sound quality is nothing outstanding, but it is okay. It is an ideal alternative to buying a type C to 3.5 dongle. However, I could not use the paired app for EQ management.
To me it’s very fun to listen to. Very comfortable to my ears. Most impressive was, no sharp and discomfiting treble was there. Enjoyable for long sessions. My only complain would be, when I take the mic out most of the times the cable comes off the iem itself rather than the mic.
Paired it with the ifi Zen Stack. It has a neutral sound signature, great instrument separation and natural vocals, at least to my ears. The added impedance adapter is a great addition if you like some bass. I use the XBass + 3D feature on my ifi Zen Can, believe me it completely changes the IEM's character. There's more depth, mids are already pretty good but the lows, super punchy. None of the frequencies are overpowering one another, no loss of details even after adding those ifi colors. So these are the positives I have for it so far.
Now moving on to the negatives. The only downside it has is the fat nozzle. Quite uncomfortable at first, even with the smallest included silicon tips, but I got used to it after a day of use. I cannot use it for long listening sessions as it is causing ear fatigue. This alone is enough to destroy the whole listening experience. But I'll still recommend it if the nozzle size isn't an issue for you. So it'd be best if you keep that in mind before making any purchase decision.
Overall, I can blindly say, even after it being my first time experiencing IEMs, that this is the best pair of IEMs anyone could ever own. I definitely recommend. I've seen IEMs that cost over thousands of dollars, never owned any of them, but I don't think they are as good as they cost.
